A collection of paintings. Art from Cape Town, South Africa
76x61cm. Griff peering out from behind bright green bushes.
A scene looking out at some taxis from Main Road, Cape Town. A rainy day provided the perfect road reflections for an interesting composition. The side mirror was included because I loved the rear reflections, in particular the way the car lights bounced all over.
This was a scene at Simon's Town in Cape Town, South Africa. I loved juxtaposition of the sea, sky, road, and wall before the train tracks below. I went for an impressionistic style to try capture the moody ambiance.
Part of a series: Exploration of the relationship between the elements of earth and air. Acrylic on canvas pad.

Night Selfie. Acrylic on canvas. 30x40cm. A capture through a mirror at night.
A spot of tea. Portrait painting against a bright background. Original artwork: acrylic on canvas pad Size: 30x40cm (A3)
Lesley Eating an Apple. Acrylic on canvas, 30x40cm. The shadows of the figure on the dark wall contrasted with the bright colours of the room's interior inspired this piece. A reflection on the casual nature of eating an apple while talking about her day.
Late autumn scene of a figure gazing by a tree. The colour of the clothes made for a great juxtaposition to the vibrant reds of the leaves on the tree. I went for a more expressive, vibrant and rougher style to capture the mood of the scene.
View Over Chapel at Simon's Town. I was visiting Simon's Town, in Cape Town, and was struck by the colour scheme of the sky. It was broody, and quite similar in shade to the rest of the scene and the roof of a naval museum and chapel clocktower below.
Wine and snacks. Acrylic on canvas, 30,5x40,5cm
Spinning Vinyl. Acrylic on canvas. 22x30cm
A view through a branch at a nature reserve. The pool of water provided a smooth contrast to the rough edges of the bark and lichen on the tree, with a small plant popping out from the surface.
Evening passage view. A silhouetted sunset from the passage of flats. Palm trees stick out of the dusky sky.
Morning Lights. A cacophony of light at the 'getting ready for work time'.
Breakfast. A composition of food.
Tea Jar on Counter. I went for a rougher style with this one. I loved the reflection of the red lights in the jar and the almost blocks of colour from the surroundings.
A Study of Spritziger
A view from between arches at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
